Restaurants are on their way to recovery [Almost]

The restaurant business has shown some signs of recovery which feel very differently than last spring or even last summer. Last week’s credit card payment data facilitated by Womply.com shows a very robust bounce back in credit card spending at Restaurants for the past year.

The combination of warmer weather, looser restrictions, higher business activity, and pent-up demand pushed credit card spending to almost four times the dollar activity from this time last year

Despite these great news the future remains uncertain with a rising number of cases in the virus and a summer with very little prospects of travel and tourism which might affect overall spending, however Restaurant spending should point upwards from here as friends and family meet again to celebrate missed birthdays, anniversaries, or simply get away from Zoom.
