Rodrigo Aravena from Banco de Chile speaks to Maryland’s Hispanic Community
Banco de Chile’s chief economist presented Chile’s main challenges and opportunities in the southern hemisphere. Mr. Aravena talked about the incredible growth for the Chilean Economy by increasing its GDP per capita by almost ten times since the 1970s. Mr. Aravena highlighted some of the industries and macroeconomic conditions that might make Chile a very attractive place where to invest. As an economist, Rodrigo highlighted several similar challenges that businesses in Chile are facing as well as businesses in Maryland, first, the rise in debt and corporate leverage, and second, the long term lower interest rate outlook.
