In our four regions there are 74 marine and terrestrial protected areas that protect more than 13.77% of the continent and 97% of the territory of the Galapagos Islands. Every year, from June to October, our coasts become a sanctuary for humpback whales, who arrive in search of shelter, food and warm waters. These conditions make us their favorite place to mate and give life to their offspring.
