Shred Day
This annual event is part of a national campaign aimed at reducing identity theft and increasing scam awareness in our communities. In Maryland, identity theft continues to be a major concern, making up a significant portion of fraud reports submitted to the FTC. Nationwide, consumers lost an estimated $12.5 billion to identity fraud in 2024, and with fraud schemes becoming more sophisticated, experts anticipate these numbers will rise in 2026. Protect yourself by safely shredding sensitive documents on Shred Day!
Which documents should you shred?

- Documents with a signature that you no longer need
